Japan Day 2 – Shibuya, Tokyo

I set my alarm for 6am today so I could get out and about early. I’m staying in a capsule hotel called the Ginza Bay Hotel. I’m on my own so I don’t need a room to myself, I don’t plan on being in much either. It’s actually been really nice, it’s very clean and quiet. I’ve had much worse nights sleeps in bigger and more expensive hotels (New York), it’s definitely a new experience.

I started the day around Ginza before walking the 3.5 miles to Shibuya (I’m really getting my step count up), this is another great area of Tokyo. I’m a city type of person, so I love big buildings and lights, so this was great. I spent about 5 hours walking around Shibuya with my Leica M6, Ricoh GRII and Polaroid SX-70.

I got the Tokyo Metro back to Ginza and went out with my tripod to try and get some long exposure shots with the M6 and some Ektar and the Ricoh. I think I got some ok shots.

I recorded some video but the sound was terrible, so I’ve put some music over the top of it instead.

By the time I went to bed I’d walked over 16 miles, 35000 steps.
